"All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well" - these words are the best known part of a book by the amazing St Julian of Norwich, a Middle Age recluse and mystic, and the author of the earliest surviving English language works written by a woman.
At the age of 30 she closed herself in a cell, where she lived alone ever after, with a cat as her only companion. And though she is not the patron Saint of cats, she is often regarded as such.
